ok there are three "races" for a lack of a better word. here i will explain them as best i can.

Humans

Nothing special really, normla humans age normally and live normal lives.

Order of the Black Dawn

They recruit members almost from birth, they have members in all areas of the city including the hospitals, all of the order members are born on a full moon, something magical about that time, they tend to be born after long and hard labours and can have many troubles, somewhere on the body of the child is a birth mark in the shape of a star.

They will pressure the parents bribe them even to give them the child and raise the children them selves. they are rare to come by and there are not many of them at the most there three born a year on average.

They are apoted by a couple that are order members and raised as normla children until puberty when powers start to develope., they are taught how to use them properly and brought into the order. any that rebel are usually killed in sacrificial rituals.

Thier powers include:
Telepathy: it is mild and they can usually only read weak unportected human minds.
Telekinesis: only older stronger members can use it to move large objects.
Pyrokinesis: it comes with a specialisation in fire magic, the other form of this is shadow.
a general ability in magic spells and casting: they study ancient occult spells.

Strictly for elder members:
Possesion: the ability to control a weak minded mortal body and mind forcing them to do as they tell them using them as a slave, cannot work over a far distance and it requires alot of concentration.
Projected pain: this is like the idea of a voodoo doll, a model is used of a body a long spell s needed to bind it to the person and then the caster may use this to inflict pain on the target. it takes alot of concentration and the spell can take weeks to prepare.
Tranformation: this is a right earned by the upper order members, it includes a long ritual where an animal of choice is found and sacrificed in the name of the demon giving the chosen person the abolity to transform at will into the chosen animal.

The order of the black dawn ultimately seek control over the city and eventually who knows what else, they seek to destroy vampires the other strong race, they coudl be thier end and they have chosen an offensive defense against them. they worship an ancient demon that gives them power. the actualy name of the demon is not known they just call him the dark lord, or the night saint.

Vampires

Vampires are strong and now for the most part stick together, they meet at a bar in town and are looked after by a council of five vampires led by an ancient vampiress called Lady Rayne.

They feed on human blood to survive and cannt go out during the daylight. they are strong and are forming a resistance against the order, they fear the destruction of thier race and have chosen to stop hiding and to fight against it.

Strength include:
Telepathy: mostly to other vampires
Increased strength: much strong physically than any human or order member
Increased speed: again faster than any human or order member
Increased senses: able to smell a drop of blood in an area larger than a football field. they can hear and see better as well not needing light ot find thier way.

I know there are different theories about vampires but on this site things might be different.

Wooden stakes do not kill vampires, if a vampire is staked in the heart it is parylised and cannot move.
They do need blood to survive a vampire that does not drink becomes weak.
They do not need to breath or eat though they can do both should they wish, food does not taste as good as it did when they were human.
Galic has no effect
Holy water and blessed items though they do not kill they burn a vampires skin like strong acid and cause alot of pain.
